Tunisia: Republican Party Supports Hamadi Jebali's Decision (maya Jribi)

Tunis — The Republican Party supports the proposal of Caretaker Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali to form a technocrat government "provided that it is based on neutrality of the administration, the rejection of violence and the supremacy of law," its Secretary-General Maya Jribi said, Monday, calling also for a consensus between all the political actors on this issue.

"The proposal of Mr. Jebali is positive for the country and will help re-establish stability and preserve it from violence and terrorism," said Mrs. Jribi in a statement to TAP news agency.

She called on the Prime minister to include, in the consultations, the composition, the mission and the duration of the term of management of the current affairs "until holding free and transparent elections."

Voicing the hope to see the Ennahdha movement support the government of experts proposed by Hamadi Jebali, Maya Jribi said that her party is presently on consultation with Al-Massar, Nidaa Tounès and the Popular Front on this issue, and that "the results of the consultations will be announced shortly."
