Tunisia: Ennahdha Describes Chokri Belaid's Assassination As 'Heinous Crime'

Tunis — Ennahdha Movement firmly condemns "the heinous crime" perpetrated against Unified Democratic Patriots Party Secretary-General Chokri Belaid, which "affects the country's security and stability."

In a communiqué released on Wednesday, Ennahdha "accused the parties that plotted the assassination of the crime," urging the security authorities to unveil the criminals, bring them to justice and inform the public opinion on their real intentions.

Ennahdha invites "all the national community to solidarity and unity and to remain vigilant against those who are trying to harm civil peace, peaceful co-existence and draw the country into a spiral of violence."
