Liberia: Women Participate in Feast

Liberian women are said to have participated in the seventh day feast of the eleven Guinean military officers who died in a plane crash on February 11, 2013.

The women converged at the Guinean Embassy in Monrovia on Sunday, February 17, 2013 to express their condolences to the Government, women and people of Guinea for the death of their citizens.

"As women and people of the Mano River Union, we mourn with you, pray with you and share your loss. As wives, mothers, daughters and sisters, most of us have gone through the pains resulting from the loss of our husbands, sons and brothers during the civil war in our country," the women lamented.

They admonished Guineans to use the plane crash incident as a means to further solidify the brotherly ties between the countries of the Mano River, ECOWAS and Africa, adding "let us be our brothers and sisters' keeper."
