Kenya: FKF, KPL Told to Adopt Technology

Former Gor Mahia organising secretary Tom Ataro has urged Football Kenya Federation (FKF), Kenya Premier League and Stadium Management Board to embrace technology.

He said the three bodies need to help clubs introduce swipe card system to aid community teams like Gor and Leopards from losing revenues through gate collections in their matches.

"Teams such as Gor and Leopards with their huge following could be self sustaining if there was accountability in gate collection but the current system of issuing match tickets is prone to manipulation by wayward officials leading to loss in revenue," he explained.

Ataro said this while dishing out scholarships worth Sh275,000 to 30 children of Gor branch officials. He also donated football kit worth Sh300,000 to some primary schools in Siaya County.
