Asmara — Reports indicated that temperate fruit farming on the plateau of Ait'abir Mountain, which was set up by the Administration of the Central region, has become effective. Accordingly, sizeable volume of peach and apple harvest is expected after two months from 18 hectares.
Mr. Getahun Teklemariam, coordinator of the project, pointed out that such accomplishment is a stepping stone towards expanding the practice of temperate fruit farming in the region, besides its input in the local markets.
