Rwanda: Miss Gender Finalists Selected

Thirty four contestants have been selected for the Miss Gender competition slated for 8th March at Petit Stade, Remera.

The contestants were selected by online voting, and interviews by Ikaze Arts Agency, the main organiser of the show.

The screening exercise that identified the best contestants out of the original 43, left 34 in the second phase of the competition.

"We need someone who really understands the need of promoting gender equality in schools and in society at large," said Albert Bizimana, one of the organisers.

He added that they also considered things like courtesy, elegance and appearance.

The contestants will undergo a one-week training programme to develop their capacity in promoting gender.

"Fighting against Drug Abuse," is the theme under which the contest is being held.
