Nigeria: 2013 AYC - Aminu to Miss Egypt Friendly

Wikki Tourists star forward Umar Aminu will miss the Flying Eagles warm-up game against hosts Egypt on Wednesday afternoon on account of an ankle injury.

The Media Officer of the team, Samm Audu said Aminu suffered the injury during Saturday's friendly against Benin Republic in Abuja, which ended in a goalless draw.

Aminu, who could play as a right winger or a second striker, has been one of the shining stars for the Nigeria youth team Class of 2013.

"The Flying Eagles trained Tuesday afternoon at the Cairo International Stadium practise pitch preparatory to the friendly, which will be played at the Degla Stadium also in Cairo.

The Nigeria U20s trained for an hour from 3pm local time just before their Egyptian counterparts also worked out at the adjoining training pitch", Audu disclosed.

The match will be played on Wednesday by 3pm local time, which is 2pm Nigerian time, and it will be played on artificial pitch.

The second match between the two teams will be staged also on artificial pitch at the Salam Stadium in Cairo on Friday.

"This is a good preparation for both teams as matches at the 2013 African Youth Championship will be played on artificial pitches."

The Flying Eagles will depart Cairo on Saturday for Tunis, where they will train before they fly directly to Algeria in time for the AYC
