Nigeria: PDP Mourns Justus Esiri

The Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP, on Wednesday expressed shock over the death of veteran actor, Justus Esiri.

The National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Olisa Metuh, in a statement described the death as a national loss saying the late actor was an epitome of virtue who before his demise taught the younger generation values and patriotism through his acting.

"The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) received the news of the death of veteran actor, Justus Esiri with deep sadness.

"Esiri was an epitome of virtue who used his talent to teach values, patriotism and hard work especially to the younger generation of Nigerians.

"He contributed immensely to the development of the nation's movie industry and his memory will remain fresh in the hearts of Nigerians. The nation will indeed miss his wealth of experience and dedication to duty," Mr. Metuh said

The party, while commiserating with the Esiri family, Nollywood, and Nigerians, prayed God to give all those affected the fortitude to bear the loss.

Mr. Esiri, 70, died on Tuesday.
