Nigeria: Delay in Budget Signing in the Best Interest of Nigerians Says Abati

The presidency Wednesday indicated that the prolongation of the signing of the 2013 budget is in order that Nigerians get a better deal out of the outcome of the current limbo that has occasioned several nocturnal meetings between President Goodluck Jonathan, leadership of the National Assembly and at times the leadership of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Special Adviser to the President on media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati told State House correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa Wednesday that the delay in signing the budget "is all about making sure the best is done in the interest of Nigerians."
