Namibia: Cleaner in Court Over Birth Certificates Scam

A CLEANER working at the Keetmanshoop Home Affairs office yesterday made a brief appearance in the local Magistrate's Court on charges of theft of birth certificates and forgery.

Rosalia Rosina Jacobus (43) was not asked to plead.

Her case was postponed for further police investigation and to allow her to obtain legal representation.

Jacobus was released on bail of N$1 000.

It is alleged that she sold the stolen birth certificates to foreigners.
