Gambia: 19th Edition of BMA Run Moved to January 2014

The 19th edition of the Brufut Marathon Association (BMA) annual Run will take place in January next year instead of the traditional date of December.

Accoding to the Brufut Marathon Association, the changes to the timing of the event was necessitated by the congested list of activities in the month of December and the weather conditions against their international participants in the month.

In a press release issued by the association and sent to Observer Sports Desk, the BMA writes: "Aware of the fact that the month of December is a month full of activities and ceremonies, responsive to the requests of our growing international participants and considering the climate conditions during the period of the famous run, the Brufut Marathon Association, organisers of the Annual Brufut Run would like to inform the general public that the 19th edition of the run will now take place on the 18th January 2014 and not in December 2013."

The release added that as usual there will be a 200 meters, 1.5 kilometers, 8 kilometers, 10 kilometers and 21 kilometers runs and all of them end in Brufut. "For any information on how to register and or partner with the association, please visit the web-site www.brufut-ma.org."
