Although more investments are needed in the education sector, but there is the needed to properly manage and monitor the ones that have been made already, Anambra State, Gov. Peter Obi has said.

Speaking to the press after a meeting with the Committee of Needs Assessment of Nigeria Public Universities in Abuja on Tuesday, he said it was important that the funds being available in the education sector so far be monitored to ensure that it achieves the desired need.

Obi said the committee was inaugurated to look into the deplorable state of the Nigerian higher institutions.

Refusing to disclose the details of the meeting held, he said the committee hoped to submit its findings and report to the National Economic Council (NEC) next week.
