This year's edition of the prestigious Zaria Polo tournament is scheduled to gallop off from April 6 to 13 at its traditional venue Zaria Polo Ground, Muhammadu Aminu Square at Zaria, Kaduna State.

Trophies to be competed for during the national polo fiesta are the Royal Signal Cup, Emir of Zazzau Cup, Governor's Cup, University cup.

Others include Vice President Namadi Sambo Cup, Sarkin Zazzau Mallam Jafaru Memorial Cup, General Hassan Usman Katsina Cup, Commandant Cup, Beginners Cup and Veterans Cup.

The national polo event is clearly one of the biggest annual in the country, which has continually attracted the biggest crowd.

According to the organisers of the event, this edition promises to be the most competitive and the most exciting in history with the backing of the Kaduna State Government, under the leadership of Governor the Executive Governor of Kaduna and patron of Zaria Polo Club Mukthar Ramalan Yero.

Last year's the event was sponsored by reputable corporate organizations like communication giant MTN, Unity Bank Plc, Kaduna State Government and NNPC among others.
