Egypt: Military Spokesman - Armed Forces Continues Efforts in Sinai

Military Spokesman Colonel Ahmed Ali said the Armed Forces will continue to carry out their assignments in Sinai until all tunnels in Rafah are destroyed and all terrorist hotbeds eliminated.

On statements by some Hamas officials against closure by the Egyptian army of border tunnels and considering this an official besiege of Gaza strip, the Military Spokesman said claims that the Egyptian army is working to besiege the Palestinians are illogic.

Egypt and the Armed Forces have always been supporting the Palestinian cause, he stressed.

We are aware of the suffering of the Palestinians, but this does not mean that the Egyptian army would allow any person to infringe upon our national security or territorial integrity, he underlined.
