Tunis — The Shura Council of Ennahdha party will hold Thursday an emergency meeting to take a decision about who will be its candidate for the Prime Ministry in case no one is proposed on Thursday for this post, said Ennahdha leading member Houcine Jaziri.
"The party has not made a decision yet about its candidate," he told TAP news agency, adding that the names circulating in the media remain prospective PMs just as the top leaders within the party.
Houcine Jaziri said in this context that Hamadi Jebali is still part of the candidates suggested by Ennahdha to head the government, affirming that the choice of the candidate does not depend on people but rather on policies that might meet the claims of the present situation.
The resort to the Shura Council, he stated, is dictated by the need to choose a candidate, adding that "the country cannot afford to waste more time and is in need of a new government as quickly as possible".
