On February 28, Kenyans will have a chance to be sing and unite as one nation. On the day, at 1pm, Kenyan will sing the National Anthem as part of the Kenya 28Feb initiative.
This group comprises of dedicated Kenyans who are committed and engaged in fostering unity of purpose for our great nation.
The initiative began in 2011, when on February 28, Kenyans of all walks of life at home and in the Diaspora stopped what they were doing at 1pm, stood at attention and sang all three verses of the national anthem.
The purpose of the initiative is to encourage Kenyans to reflect on the concept of national unity and to provoke reflection on each person's individual role in fostering and enabling national unity. "With elections around the corner we feel that by singing the national anthem and reflecting on its words, Kenyans will be energised by the feeling of kinship and comradeship," read a post.
