Kenya: KQ Suspends Malawi Flights Due to Strike

Kenya Airways has suspended all flights to and from Lilongwe, Malawi due to ongoing public service strike in the country.KQ said it could not operate on the route following closure of the Lilongwe International Airport.

Public workers in Malawi are on strike demanding a 67 per cent pay hike.

"Kenya Airways station offices in Nairobi, Lilongwe and Lusaka will provide assistance in re-routing and re-booking on other airlines for the passengers who were already booked on the cancelled Kenya Airways flights," KQ sid in a statement.

"We would also like to inform our customers and the public at large that we are closely monitoring the situation on the ground. We will keep you informed on any further decisions we make regarding flights to Malawi," read the statement.
