Eritrea: Hagaz Sub-Zone Urged to Save Trees

Hagaz — The regional Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, has called on the inhabitants of Hagaz sub-zone to enhance efforts regarding preservation of trees, soil and water conservation, as well as securing animal feed.

The regional Administrator made the call at a meeting during which he pointed out that the government is exerting endeavors to put in place more social service facilities in the area, especially that of potable water supply.

Mr. Idris Mohammed Hamd, Administrator of Hagaz sub-zone, equally called on the inhabitants to sustain community undertakings pertaining to soil and water conservation until the onset of the rainy season, and thereby ensure bountiful harvest.

The participants of the meeting on their part lauded the government's commitment to rural development, and put forth views as regards various issues.

Moreover, reports indicated that the inhabitants of Hashishai, Golia, Shing and Badob villages are in a position to effectively utilize social service facilities thanks to the initiative they took to live as a community.
