Uganda: Orange Introduces Luganda Phone

Orange Uganda has introduced a phone with a Luganda menu, a statement from the company said this week.

Nalongo is a dual-Sim phone with features like a camera, radio, torch screen and MP3 player. It will cost Shs 69,000.

Orange Uganda hopes that the new phone will ease communication for people who do not understand English but can easily read Luganda. Nalongo, the statement said, becomes the first local language phone on the Ugandan market, amid stiff competition among telecommunication firms.
