Fans of world music are in for a treat this evening at Mish Mash when Sousou and Maher Cissoko ascend the stage.
After exciting the crowd at Sauti Za Busara festival in Zanzibar, the duo will bring From Stockholm to Dakar, their second album, to rock Kampala tonight. Joining them on stage will be our very own world music ambassador Joel Sebunjo, performing live with his kora (a West African harp).
Released in 2011, the album features songs in Mandinka, Swedish, Wolof and English accompanied by kora, guitars and percussions, creating a unique blend of reggae, mbalax, pop and blues influences.
