Striking workers in all the federal government owned research institutes in the country have accused government of insincerity and gross insensitivity to the development of education in the country.
Members of Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), Senior Staff Association of Universities, Teaching Hospitals, Research Institutes and Associated Institutions (SSAUTHRIAI) and Academic Staff Union of Research Institutions (ASURI) have been on strike since February 4, 2013.
In a joint press briefing organised by the unions yesterday in Abuja, NASU's General Secretary Comrade Peters Adeyemi accused government of insincerity, even after willingly signing an agreement with them on how to move the sector forward.
