Nigeria: Lagos International Polo Tournament Gets Date

The 2013 Lagos International Polo tournament will gallop off from February 27 at the prestigious Lagos Polo ground, Ikoyi. The tournament ends on March 10.

According to tournament co-ordinator, Tade Oyinlola, this year's edition will attract participating clubs from Ibadan, Kano, Kaduna and host Lagos.

The draw for the two week tournament was held at the club early this week and the co-ordinator disclosed that preliminaries will begin on February 23. He stated the first week will feature competition in the Dansa Cup, the Open Cup and the Oba of Lagos cup. Italian ambassadors Cup, the Independence Cup and the prestigious Majekudomi Cup.

The tournament also attracts international players from South Africa, Argentina, Italy among others.

Teams participating in the tournament have intensified their training while organisers are doing everything possible to ensure a smooth tournament.
