Angola: Culture Minister Envisages Good Relations With U.S.

Luanda — The Angolan Culture minister, Rosa Cruz e Silva, on Thursday in Luanda said that the increase of the cultural cooperation between Angola and the United States of America will enable to strengthen more and more the historic bilateral ties.

The minister made this statement during a meeting organized by the US Embassy in Angola, which served to re-launch the cultural interchange between both countries.

The minister also stressed that Angola and the US still have a long way to go in terms of researching the habits and customs of the two peoples.

On his turn, the US ambassador to Angola, Christopher McMullen, said that the bilateral relations have been focusing more on the political and commercial fields, reason why he agrees that the cultural interchange aspect must now be taken into account.

The diplomat emphasized that his country wishes to continue to strengthen the bilateral cultural relationship, with a view to taking it to another level.

The meeting served to stimulate the cultural interchange between both countries, in the ambit of the celebrations of the 20 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
