Gambia: Another Setback in NDEA Officers' Murder Case

The murder case involving former officers of the National Drugs Enforcement Agency, Edrissa Jarju and Edrissa Jaiteh, could not proceed recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul before Justice Emmanuel Nkea.

However, the case, set for the defence to open their case, was later adjourned in chambers.

The case continues on 26 February 2013, for the accused persons to open their defence.

They were accused of murdering one Cherno Barry who at the time of the incident was in their custody at the Manjai Police Station.
