Ethiopia: Marking the Army Day

The first ever Army Day, which was marked for a week with exhibitions, symposiums and sport events, starting from February 7, 2013, closed on Thursday 14, 2013 in the presence of Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn, who is also Commander in Chief of the Ethiopian Defence Force at the Addis Abeba Stadium.

The Premier said on the occasion, which was organised under the theme: "Our Constitutional loyalty and commitment to the people will live forever", institutions established by the Ethiopian Armed Forces and its affiliates are serving as foundations for the industrial transformation of the nation.
