Gunmen stormed a mosque near Kenya's border with Somalia on Thursday (February 21st) killing at least seven people and injuring others, police and a local official said.
The attack took place during morning prayers in Malleley near the border town of Liboi, 25 kilometres from the Dadaab refugee complex.
"Five men and two women have been killed in the attack, while two others have been injured," Garissa county commissioner Maalim Mohammed told AFP, adding that there were about 10 attackers. "The two women had responded to the screams from the mosque when they were shot."
