Tunisia: Noureddine Bhiri and Mohamed Ben Salem Only Candidates As PM, Says Mourou

Tunis — Abdelfatteh Mourou, Vice-President of the Ennahdha Party and member of the Shura Council has named Justice Minister Noureddine Bhiri and Agriculture Minister Mohamed Ben Salem as his party's only candidates for the post of PM.

Current Health Minister "Abdellatif Mekki has declined his nomination as Prime Minister," said Mourou, adding that Ali Larayedh could remain in office as Minister of the Interior.

The Shura Council is currently meeting to nominate a candidate tasked with forming the next government, in accordance with the law on the provisional regulation of public authorities after the resignation of Hamadi Jebali on February 19.
