Tunisia: Sidi Bouzid - Police Storm Mosque Where Armed Group Took Refuge

Sidi Bouzid — Security forces and National Army units stormed Thursday evening after evening prayer, Errahma Mosque downtown Sidi Bouzid where an armed group had taken refuge without for all that managing to find them.

A large crowd of local residents, worried and anxious, had gathered round the mosque, reports the local correspondent of TAP news agency.

Security reinforcements made up of special units are expected in Sidi Bouzid to track down the suspects.

An armed group, driving an "Alfa Romeo" car, had fired shots on Thursday afternoon in the town of Saballa, in Sidi Bouzid, before taking refuge in Errahma Mosque which was surrounded by security forces and the Army.

Two police officers were wounded during the shooting and taken to the regional teaching hospital.The suspects'car was seized.
