Nigeria: NIMC to Decentralise Registration Centres in Kebbi

The Kebbi State office of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) said on Friday it would decentralised the on-going enrolment centers to enable citizens obtain their identity cards.

The State Director of the commission, Mallam Hassan Haruna, told Journalists in Birnin Kebbi that the commission would soon embark on a sensitisation campaign to create awareness among the rural populace.

He said those currently with a slip containing unique tracking Identification and National Identification number would thereafter be issued with the General Multipurpose identity Card.

NAN recalls that the exercise was suspended due to the breakdown of the scanning system.
