Benin: Quality Schools International Arrives in Benin

press release

On Thursday, February 21, 2013, U.S. Ambassador Michael Raynor chaired a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the arrival of Quality Schools International (QSI) in Benin. Attendees included Beninese government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, QSI students and their parents.

In his remarks, Ambassador Raynor spoke on the importance of quality education. Brian Midles, Director of Quality Schools International, explained that the school's curriculum is based on the Mastery Learning Model of instruction, which is a focused and powerful way of organizing both curriculum (what is taught) and instruction (the way it is taught).

Quality Schools International opened in Cotonou in September 2012. It provides an academic program in English for students between five and thirteen years old. QSI is a non-profit institution and operates 38 schools in 30 different countries.
