Egypt: Shura Committee Calls for Redrawing Maritime Borders With Cyprus

The Shura Council's Arab and Defense Affairs and National Security Committee called for re-drawing the borderlines with Cyprus because the current demarcation makes Eratosthenes Seamount, in the east of the Mediterranean, belong to Cyprus although maps dated 200 years ago, confirm it lies within Egypt's borders.

One of the Shura Council members called for revoking the economic maritime borders demarcation agreement and said that the administrative court is currently looking into the case.
