Egypt: Foreign Ministry - Egyptian Boat Held By Saudi Authorities Freed

In a statement for the Foreign Ministry on Thursday 21/2/2013, Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad Ambassador Ali el-Ashiri said that a fishing boat that was detained near the Saudi southwestern coasts was freed after mediation efforts made by the Egyptian consulate in Jeddah succeeded.

He added that the owner of the boat was fined and the crew was freed.
