Zimbabwe: Latest On Murdered Girl

The post-mortem for the 10-year-old girl who went missing in Rugare, Harare, last Sunday and was found dead on Wednesday was conducted yesterday at Harare Central Hospital mortuary. Sources close

to the investigations said they were awaiting the report to ascertain what transpired.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Homicide section have since been deployed in various areas in the city to look for leads that could lead to the arrest of the assailants.

No arrests have been so far in one of the cases that has baffled the police and the public. Police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Oliver Mandipaka yesterday said investigations were still continuing.

"We are still carrying out investigations and we are appealing to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the suspects to contact any nearest police station," he said.

Police suspect the girl, Stacy Munjoma, could have been raped before being killed by the unknown assailants.
