Nigeria: We Have Not Arrested Anyone Over Lagos Explosion - Police

The Lagos State Police Command has said that it has not arrested anyone over the explosion that occurred in Lagos last week.

An explosion occurred under the Festac Link Bridge on Monday last week killing one person and injuring a police officer.

There have been media reports that about 10 people have been arrested over the incident with the claims linked to police sources.

The spokesperson for the Lagos police, Ngozi Braide, however, said on Friday afternoon that the police have not arrested anyone.

Ms. Braide said there was no suspect in the command's custody although the police have questioned and released several people over the incident.

"There are no suspects with us, we only invite people for questioning and then we release them so we don't have any suspect with us." Ms Braide said.

Ms. Braide said investigations are still ongoing.
