Eritrea: Inhabitants of Mendefera Sub-Zone Reiterate Commitment to Back Up National Development Drive

Mendefera — The inhabitants of Mendefera sub-zone said that they would back up the national development drive.

They made the pledge at a meeting conducted this week with Ms. Fana Tesfamariam, Acting Administrator of the region, in which community elders, regional Assembly members, religious leaders and Area administrators were present. They further lauded the support being extended to them by the Agriculture Ministry and Area Administrations as regards irrigation, dairy, poultry and apicultural farming.

Ms. Fana said that community undertakings are making remarkable impact in the implementation of development programs. She further pointed out that various programs regarding adult education, mother and child health, forestry and wild life, irrigation development, as well as soil and water conservation are under implementation in the region.

The participants of the meeting put forth views pertaining to several issues.
