Kenya: Fake Cash Lands Man in Trouble

Mwingi law court has remanded a middle aged man in Waita prison for failing to pay a bond of Sh20,000 and surety amount of the same for having been found with fake money.

Wyclif Kiplangat appeared before Mwingi law court Principal Magistrate Hezron Nyaberi yesterday. He was charged for being in possession with two papers intended to resemble and pass as Kenyan currency of Sh1000 each unlawfully.

Wyclif committed the offence on February 18 at around 9.30pm at Mwingi Township. He was arrested and brought before the court yesterday where he was charged with the same offence.

However the Principal Magistrate said the accused should be remanded at Waita prison till February 28. The hearing of the case will be on March 20.
