Egypt: Military Spokesman - Suez Canal Waterway Safe

Military Spokesman Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Ali asserted on his official Facebook page on 23/2/2013 that navigation in the Suez Canal is running normally and denied claims that traffic was disrupted.

He expressed appreciation to the residents of the cities of Suez , Ismailiya, and Port Said for supporting efforts by the military to restore security and stability and protect public and private property.

He pointed out that the security forces at the Suez Canal managed to abort a bid to smuggle petroleum products to Gaza Strip.
