The Christian and Muslim Youths Development Initiative has commended the Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, over his handling of the security situation in Maidugari, the Borno State capital

In a press release signed by the co-chairmen, Mr. Deinde Toyin Komolafe and Alhaji Adamu Musa, the group said the timely intervention of the governor in the recent bomb blast in Maidugari where properties worth millions of naira were destroyed also destroyed helped in calming frayed nerves.

"We are ready to meet with representatives of the state government from time to time to dialogue on various tactics that can be adopted to maintain peace and unity among all religious groups and ethnic nationalities that are resident in the state," part of the release read.
