Zimbabwe: Table Tennis to Widen Base

Table Tennis Zimbabwe wants to widen player base by incorporating inactive provinces in the national association.

In an interview with Standardsport, TTZ technical director Newman Gomendo said they wanted to include all the provinces in the association.

"We want to spread the game of table tennis to all the provinces by incorporating those who are not part of the national association.

"We are looking forward to including provinces such as Masvingo, Midlands, Matabeleland South and Mashonaland Central," he said.

He added that they would start by conducting coaching courses for prospective coaches.

Next month Zimbabwe will host a four nation's regional tourney pitting the hosts, Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania.
