Asmara — In a meeting she conducted with the Ministry of Health officials in Assab, Ms. Amna Nur-Hushien, Minister of Health, expressed that the Ministry is making solemn efforts to ensure that the public is provided with timely and efficient health services.

She explained that human resources development and availability of ample health materials have significant contribution in providing efficient health services and that the effort of the ministry in providing training for its staff and developing health institutions is registering commendable result.

She further indicated that the construction of new hospital in Assab, establishment of health centers in Asagala and Ra as well as introduction of surgical services in Tio community hospital are activities of the ministry for the year 2013.

Mr. Asefaw Gebremicael, head of the Ministry of Health branch in Southern Red Sea region, acclaimed the efforts by the health professionals in realizing the objective of the Ministry and called on for its sustainability.
