Rwanda: Haruna Inspires Yanga to Victory

Kagame Cup Champions Yanga continued with their winning form as they beat title rivals Azam 1-0 at the National Stadium to increase their lead to three points at top of the Vodacom Premier League table standings.

Yanga, managed by former APR coach Ernest Brandts, got the winner in the 39th minute through on-form Amavubi Stars midfielder Haruna Niyonzima.

The Jangwani Boys' win extend their quest to reclaim the league title they relinquished last season to archrivals SC Simba.

With this result, Yanga have moved to 39 points, 3 ahead of second-placed Azam. With a game in hand, Brandts' team should be viewed as favourites in the title race.
