LANDS minister James Orengo has disclosed that ODM will secure the high profile finance docket when Cord Alliance forms the next government. Orengo said the agreement was signed by the three Cord leaders last Tuesday.
"I drafted the agreement which proposed that ODM secures the finance position among other slots which will be shared with others," added Orengo.
His was speaking at Sigomere market, Ugunja constituency during a campaign rally where he urged voters to adopt six piece voting suit.
The Ugenya MP pointed that the finance docket was a key position that the party with numerical strength in parliament ought to retain for successful operation of the government structures.
Orengo reiterated that ODM party was short changed by PNU in sharing of lucrative slots where the latter frustrated it in terms of resource allocation.
"Projects perceived to be pro Raila were frustrated by finance minister since PNU wing of the government controlled immense powers," said Orengo adding the reason why ODM need to retain the seat in the new dispensation.
The minister was accompanied by former Alego/Usonga MP Edwin Yinda, Siaya county governor aspirant Cornel Rasanga and Ugunja ODM parliamentary nominee Opiyo Wandai.
Others were Siaya County women representative Dr Christine Ombaka and Sigomere ward representative Aggrey Omwende. Orengo paraded the team and asked voters to elect them saying they were staunch lieutenants of Prime Minister Raila Odinga's government.
He asked the public not to be hoodwinked by politicians seeking elective posts in the guise of supporting the PM and yet they pay allegiance to rival parties.
Rasanga and Ombaka said they were equal to the daunting task ahead of them and asked electorates to vote o0verwhemingly for ODM party.
