Nigeria: Council Boss Weeps Before Police Investigators

Emotions failed the chairman of Calabar South Local Government Area, Cross River State, Mr. Ekeng Nsa Henshaw, penultimate Monday, as he made attempts to exonerate himself from the allegations raised by his police orderly that he was on the verge of eliminating those opposed to his second term ambition.

The chairman, who did not join issues with the police orderly who made the grievous allegations against him, broke down in tears at the end of the confession, saying: "My wife sent me a text message from Lagos telling me she read in newspapers of my plans to kill some people. This is embarrassing to me. I have no such plans."
