Egypt: Constitution Party Says Will Boycott Elections

The Constitution Party said on Sunday it will fully boycott the upcoming parliamentary elections, adding it will neither vote nor have its candidates contest the elections.

In a statement it issued today, the party urged the people as well as all parties and political powers to boycott the elections and not recognize the legitimacy of the parliament these elections will produce.

The party stated it will propose this recommendation to the National Salvation Front in light of the party's commitment to maintaining the unity of the front.
