Libya Dismantles Bani Walid Terror Cell

Libyan security forces discovered a Bani Walid terror cell of Kadhafi loyalists, Libya Herald reported on Saturday (February 23rd). Security forces uncovered the group after an accidental explosion on Thursday.

According to Bani Walid Military Council chief Fathi Zili, the cell was planning a bombing campaign in Tripoli and Bani Walid "to destabilise the country's stability".

Cell leader Yousef Musbah Abdul Rahim Dabia died in the blast. The former member of one of Moamer Kadhafi's "revolutionary committees" also belonged to the "Khamis Brigade".

Authorities said Dabia was involved in the assassinations of Libyan opposition figures, both in the country and abroad.
