Nigeria: Abuja Varsity of Technology to Take Off September

FCT Minister Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed said the newly established Abuja University of Technology, Abaji (AUTA) will commence academic activities in September 2013.

The minister said this on Thursday in Abaji as part of the on-going official campaign for the forthcoming Area Councils' Chairmanship and Councillorships Election for the Party in Abaji and Kwali Area Councils respectively.

Mohammed said that arrangements had been concluded for the smooth take-off of the specialized university to give opportunity to the residents of the Federal Capital Territory to acquire technical education to provide the needed manpower across the country.

Apart from the academic activity, the minister reiterated, the university would also open up economic activities in the area with multiplier effects.
