The IFP welcomes the appointment of the new Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality manager, Dr. Lindiwe Msengana-Ndlela after the municipality has been without a municipal manager for more than three years. The IFP wonders what has taken the municipality so long to appoint a municipal manager and hope that the new municipal manager will bring stability, good governance and credibility in the metro and end corruption.
The IFP further hopes that Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan mayor, Zanoxolo Wayile did not make this appointment just in order to avoid the municipality being placed under administration, but rather for reasons such as bringing better service delivery to the residents of Nelson Mandela Bay. These residents have suffered terribly poor service delivery, due in part to tensions between ANC in the Nelson Mandela Bay region, led by chairman Nceba Faku and the party's other representatives in the metro.
The IFP hopes there will be significant changes in Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality now that it has a municipal manager.
