Nigeria: Next Cash & Carry Abuja Officially Opens

The NEXT Cash & Carry retail outlet was officially opened Thursday in Abuja.

The outlet, which is an addition to the Federal Capital Territory's growing number of international franchise chains, according to its General Manager, Rob Hardwick will offer residents and visitors a new shopping spirit which they deserve, under one roof.

According to Hardwick, "the mall built on a 10,000square metres can attend to at least 15, 000 customers daily."

He added that some initiatives would be unveiled in few weeks to attend to the different segments of the Abuja market.

The GM said it was an avenue for local suppliers to benefit immensely from the outlet as, "efforts are being made to reach out to Abuja poultry farmers and other suppliers."

He added that a private security outfit will be hired to join effort with external security agencies.

Minister of the FCT, Bala Mohammed had earlier pledged to support the growth of the retail mall.

The Managing Director, NEXT Park & Shop, Mr. Ndibe Obi described the initiative as a model systematic structure for the transition from informal to formal economic sector.
