Egypt: Interior Ministry, NCW Stand Up to Violence Against Women

Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim and Head of the National Council for Women (NCW) Mervat el-Talawy discussed the NCW request to get statistics on violence crimes that were committed against women lately in a bid to analyze them.
The minister called for launching an awareness campaign for women to report the crimes against them. He pointed out that there are many crimes that were never reported of and many women reported crimes but due to family pressures they cancelled these reports.
