Egyptian Minister of Awqaf Dr. Talaat Afifi urged Egyptians not to be misled by calls for damaging their homeland, stressing that the only beneficiaries of civil disobedience are the enemies of the nation who want to end its march towards reconstruction .

He issued a religious opinion that Islam totally rejects all calls for damage and violence and that Islamic law does not allow the destabilization of communities and threatening the safety and security of citizens, whatever the reason is.

He added that Islamic teachings came in favor of human interests. Therefore, civil disobedience is against the principles of Islam.
